CASTAWAY BED LIMITED WARRANTY

Effective Date: June 8, 2026

This Limited Warranty governs all warranty claims for Castaway Bed products. A plain-language overview of our coverage is available on our Our Promise page. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.


1. Definitions

For purposes of this Limited Warranty:

"Product" means the Castaway Bed frame, its integrated components, and any nightstands sold as new by Castaway Bed or an authorized seller as part of the system.

"Original Purchaser" means the individual who originally purchased the Product directly from Castaway Bed or an authorized seller.

"Normal Residential Use" means use within a private, climate-controlled residence in accordance with provided instructions and intended sleeping use.

"Motorized and Electrical Components" include actuators, motors, power supply, wiring, switches, control hardware, and integrated electrical components installed by Castaway Bed at the time of manufacture, including optional flush-mounted charging ports and associated wiring.

"Structural Frame Components" include load-bearing frame elements, structural support members, and side panels.

"Finishes and Cosmetic Components" include surface finishes, veneers, and cosmetic hardware.


2. Warranty Coverage Periods

Castaway Bed provides the following limited warranties to the Original Purchaser, subject to all terms and exclusions below:

- Motorized and Electrical Components: 5 years, parts and labor, then lifetime coverage on parts only, beginning after Year 5
- Structural Frame Components: 10 years total, with parts and labor for the first 2 years, then parts only for the remainder, beginning after Year 2
- Finishes and Cosmetic Components: 2 years, parts and labor

For purposes of this warranty, "Lifetime" means for as long as the Original Purchaser owns and uses the Product. Replacement parts provided under this warranty are covered for the remainder of the original applicable warranty period.


3. What Is Covered

This Limited Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that occur during Normal Residential Use and that prevent the Product from functioning or appearing as intended, within the applicable coverage period for each component type listed in Section 2. Covered remedies are described in Sections 5 and 8.


4. What Is Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

- Improper assembly, installation, relocation, or handling
- Unauthorized repairs, alterations, or modifications
- Accidents, misuse, abuse, or negligence
- Impact damage or use beyond intended sleeping application
- Use exceeding stated weight capacity limits
- Improper electrical connection, use of incompatible power supply, or failure to follow provided installation instructions
- Exposure to moisture, flooding, mold, extreme temperatures, or non-climate-controlled environments
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic changes, fading, scratches, dents, or natural wood grain variations
- Routine maintenance, including hardware or fasteners that loosen through normal use
- Commercial, rental, institutional, or hospitality use unless otherwise agreed in writing


5. Service, Labor, and Replacement Parts

For covered claims, Castaway Bed provides the replacement part and ships it to the Original Purchaser at no charge.

In-person service and labor, meaning Castaway Bed sending an installer or paying for one, are provided in the following situations:

- For any component, including Structural Frame, Finishes, and Cosmetic Components, that fails due to a manufacturing or assembly defect within the first 2 years from the date of delivery
- For Motorized and Electrical Components that fail due to a defect during the 5-year coverage period

Once the applicable labor period has ended, Castaway Bed ships the covered replacement part together with installation instructions, and the Original Purchaser installs it or arranges installation at their own cost. For example, a covered Structural Frame Component defect after Year 2 entitles the Original Purchaser to a free replacement part through Year 10 but does not include labor, and a covered Motorized Component defect after Year 5 entitles the Original Purchaser to a free replacement part for the life of the Product but does not include labor.


6. Maintenance and Owner Responsibilities

Routine maintenance is the responsibility of the Original Purchaser and is not a warranty event. This includes tightening, leveling, and adjusting hardware or fasteners that loosen through normal use. A component that has loosened through normal use is not considered a defect. Castaway Bed will provide clear written instructions for these adjustments on request.


7. Relocation, Moving, and Reinstallation

This Limited Warranty remains valid if the Product is relocated. However:

- Damage caused during moving, transportation, disassembly, or reassembly is not covered
- Issues resulting from improper reinstallation are not covered

Relocation and reinstallation should follow Castaway Bed's provided instructions. Any courtesy replacement provided after relocation does not extend or restart the original warranty period.


8. Remedies

Castaway Bed's sole obligation under this Limited Warranty is, at its discretion:

- To repair the defective component, or
- To replace the defective component with a new or comparable refurbished part

Labor and installation are included only as described in Section 5. Where labor is not included, Castaway Bed ships the replacement part with installation instructions, and the Original Purchaser may install it or arrange installation at their own cost.


9. Warranty Claims and Troubleshooting Process

All warranty claims must be submitted by email to:

The Original Purchaser must provide:

- Proof of purchase
- A description of the issue
- Photo or video documentation

Castaway Bed may require remote troubleshooting before approving any claim. Participation in requested troubleshooting is required for claim processing.


10. Non-Transferability

This Limited Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the Original Purchaser.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Castaway Bed shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including loss of use, inconvenience, or property damage. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Castaway Bed's total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price paid for the Product.


12. Governing Law

This Limited Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
