How is the bed operated?
The bed uses a push-to-operate switch on the back of the integrated nightstand. Hold the button to move the platforms — release to stop. Both Twin XL platforms glide outward simultaneously.
What should I expect when the bed moves?
The movement is slow and controlled. The motor makes an audible sound during operation — this is normal. The bed is engineered for stability with no rocking or instability during movement.
Is the center mattress platform stable?
Yes. The center platform is stabilized and remains aligned and secure whether the bed is open or closed. It is safe and comfortable to sleep on.
What mattresses are compatible?
Castaway Bed is compatible with standard Twin XL mattresses. The center platform mattress is included with the bed.
What is the weight capacity of the bed?
Each side comfortably supports up to 500 lbs and is built to move smoothly under load. If you’re unsure about your setup, just reach out, we’re happy to help.
